Dear friends and family of GoPrime Mortgage, Inc. .,
Whether you’re celebrating Solstice, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza or anything else in these last weeks of December, we want to send you the brightest of holiday greetings. We believe that this time is an amazing way to celebrate with friends and family and honor the changing of the seasons. Here are GoPrime Mortgage, Inc. ., we like to take time to evaluate the year we’ve had and express our gratitude for the community, our clients, and one another.
There is ample cultural evidence from all over the world to let us know that a shared celebration during the longest nights of winter was a way for communities to embrace the changes of the seasons and fight off sadness. Knowing that the days will become longer again and spring will return gave our ancestors hope, and that spirit of the holidays still lives within us today.
Everyone has good and bad times in their lives and their careers. But rather than dwell on the negative, the holiday season encourages us to look inward and assess the positive to move forward into the new year. This year had a lot of things to hold on to through good and bad times, and we want to honor that. So, here’s a look back at things our team had to say about gratitude in 2018 as well as some favorite inspirational quotes about the holidays.
“This is my wish for you: peace of mind, prosperity through the year, happiness that multiplies, health for you and yours, fun around every corner, energy to chase your dreams, joy to fill your holidays!” – D.M. Dellinger
Our newest team member, Dan Clancy, joined us this year and we’re grateful for his dedication and spirit. But his year was also filled with many other firsts as he and his wife welcomed their first child, Teagan Marie, in June. Unsurprisingly, when asked what he was most proud of it was the personal and professional growth he made in 2018.
One of our primary values here at Prime Mortgage Lenders, Inc. is gratitude, so we also asked everyone in the office what they were most grateful for. Dan expresses continued thanks for the health of his family and new opportunities that presented themselves this year.
And for Holiday greetings, Dan said, “I wish everyone the happiest of holidays. May you have the strength to overcome life’s difficulties and the wisdom to focus on all of life’s simple blessings, that can so easily be taken for granted, each and every day in 2019.”
“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.” – Hamilton Wright Mabie
The head of our marketing team, Teona, also had a lot on her plate this year, including high highs and low lows. But that doesn’t seem to stop her fiery spirit, for which we are grateful.
While she doesn’t always talk about it, a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis impacts her life every day. But by opening up, she hopes that maybe she can reach just a few people in the Asheville community. She’s here and available to talk if anyone needs someone who understands.
For her, 2018 was a year of self-discovery. She found that meditation, and the 10% Happier App specifically, helped a great deal. She still practices Yoga, frustration and all. And internalized that the negative talk and thoughts we all have don’t actually serve us day to day.
When asked what she was most proud of she said the realization that if she’s not happy or healthy, she’s no help to those around her. And that includes herself. Teona is a natural giver and would always push through, but this year she learned to pull back and is willing to ask for help or say no when she needs to.
But, what was she most grateful for? “Sarah,” she said. “We are not married so there is no contract of ‘in health or sickness,’ yet she is always there. I look at her with amazement, where does she get the strength, patience, acceptance? After a bad day I tell her tomorrow will be better, and she nods, holds my hand and agrees with certainty. But really, I don’t know. She is my faith when I am running low.”
“Every piece of the universe, even the tiniest little snow crystal, matters somehow. I have a place in the pattern, and so do you. Thinking of you this holiday season!” – T.A. Barron
Of course, that leaves me, the face of GoPrime Mortgage, Inc. . here in West Asheville.
2018 has been a year of family. I dedicated the year to taking more time to be present with my children and my family. That took shape as a multi-year plan to travel, including both Israel & Italy, and it happened. Check!! I successfully moved my mother out from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Asheville in February. Kissed the Land of Enchantment goodbye, and welcomed another family member to the Land of Sky and some of the oldest mountains in the world.
Professionally, I committed to serving on three Board of Director positions for local non-profits, and organizations in Asheville including OnTrack WNC, WABA, and REACH fund via Homeward Bound. And I started a Mastermind Group which will likely continue beyond the 12-month commitment into 2019.
I enjoy working with first time homebuyers, and they ignite my passion and purpose in this field with their excitement and fear of purchasing their first home. I feel honored and appreciate their trust and the opportunity to serve. It makes me happy and proud when I reach out to them months, if not years, later to wish them a happy birthday, or just check-in, and they tell me how much they love their home. What we do is so far more important than lending, and buying houses. We are in the business of facilitating dreams and honoring the start of a new home.
I am most grateful for my three beautiful children, Kafira, Zosha & Meir. They challenge me daily, make me want to be a better person, man, and father. I am humbled by their resilience, their strength, and pure unconditional love. Their humor and the creativity they make on the daily is inspiring. I am so gifted to be able to stand by their side, moment by moment. They teach me presence. They teach me what it means to be a human being. Thank you.
Value your connections with friends and family during these holidays. At times it can feel stressful and a time crunch. Focus on the moments in-between the hustle, the gaps. Focus on the space, time, or a deep breath between the gaps of thoughts, or bites of yummy eats. These are the practices that help you stay in the moment, present, and mindful. It reminds one that life is a gift, and that is why we focus on the present.
“As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December’s bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the same.” – Donald E. Westlake
So, what is our wish for all of you this holiday season? We hope you’ve had a great 2018 and that you’ve taken time to express your gratitude to those around you. Be proud of your own accomplishments and look toward the new year as another fresh start.
But, most of all, celebrate this season in any way that works for you. Love your friends and family deeply, and be present.
“May your walls know joy, may every room hold laughter, and every window open to great possibility.” – Mary Anne Radmacher
