There are more than 15 autumn events happening in the area from now through November, including:
- Eliada Fall Festival and Corn Maze. Everyone enjoys making memories by exploring the corn maze, lawn games, corn cannons and hayrides, which happen Fridays through Sundays from September 20 through October 27.

- ASAP Farm Tour. On September 21 and 22, enjoy guided farm tours, demonstrations, tastings and hands-on activities to learn how food is grown in Western NC.
- Goombay Festival. This event celebrates Asheville’s African American community, including its culture, food, music and art. It’s held on September 27 to 29 in Downtown Asheville.
- Asheville Greek Festival. Celebrate Greek food, music, dancing and culture at this annual festival from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on September 27 and 28 at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
- Asheville Oktoberfest. With more than 20 local breweries, distilleries, wineries and cideries participating, this German-inspired festival promises a day full of indulgence in food, drink and dancing. It takes place on October 5 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Pack Square Park.
- Asheville VeganFest. From 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on October 6, sample a variety of plant-based and gluten-free foods, while keeping kids happy in the Kid Zone.
- LEAF Global Arts Festival. From October 17 to 20, this festival promises plenty of kid-friendly fun, including giant slides, water sports, live musical acts and other family-friendly activities.
- Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands. Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Downtown Asheville hosts this fair that exhibits a wide variety of crafts, including paper, leather, wood, glass, mixed media, fiber and jewelry. The fair takes place on October 17 to 20 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.
Throughout Asheville, including West Asheville and other neighborhoods, the fall brings plenty of opportunities for apple picking, fall foliage drives and memorable dining. Don’t miss a visit to Hickory Nut Gap Farm for fun activities like hay rides, pony rides, a bee observatory and fall stargazing every weekend from Labor Day through November.
