Local Charities Need Our Help More Than Ever
At GoPrime Mortgage, one of our core values is our commitment to the community. We understand that in these trying times there is more need than ever but also a greater risk to volunteers. It’s the “Catch 22” of 2020: local charities need tremendous help, but we have to stay safe. If you want to give back, here are some charities that can benefit from your participation and safe ways to give back.
Homeward Bound of WNC
We have been committed to Homeward Bound of WNC, especially the REACH Fund. While volunteering might look different today than it did in 2019, the organization still needs help. Homeward Bound is dedicated to eliminating homelessness in our community through a variety of programs and partnerships. Of course, if you want to stay safe at home you can still give back by donating.
OnTrack
OnTrack Financial Education and Counseling is an amazing service for anyone in WNC. We recommend it frequently and support the organization. You can support it, too. Now, more than ever, our friends and neighbors may need additional assistance to get back on track. Donate at their website to help OnTrack provide resources for area residents who are working toward their financial and housing goals.
Manna Food Bank
Anyone in the Asheville area is aware of the Manna Food Bank. Manna is dedicated to ending hunger in Western North Carolina. While many people throughout our region find themselves unemployed or underemployed, Manna provides food for families who may have never thought they’d be in this position. The easiest way to donate is to drop off food or other necessary items. Visit the website to see how you can help.
Asheville Humane Society
While our efforts might be focused on the humans in our community, we can’t forget about the animals who may also be suffering in this economic climate. Life still marches on even as we shelter in place, and stray animals and beloved pets are surrendered when families experience hardship. You can help by adopting a pet or donating to the Asheville Humane Society.
